Purr-ventive Care for Cary Cats
Providing your cat comprehensive veterinary care is a top priority of The Cat Clinic of Cary. Preventive care is one of the easiest and most effective ways to ensure your family cat lives a long and healthy life. Regular veterinary visits, including wellness exams, dental checkups, diagnostic testing, and vaccination boosters, assist your veterinarian in early detection of health changes in your cat before they lead to more serious medical conditions.
Physical Examinations
We are excited to meet the newest member of our veterinary family and encourage you to bring your family kitten or cat in to visit us within the first couple weeks of bringing him or her home. During this appointment, your veterinarian will complete a nose-to-tail examination, including examining the coat, listening to the heart and lungs, and checking eyes, ears, and nose.
For kittens and adult cats, annual visits are sufficient. As your pet enters the senior cat stage of life, more frequent visits are encouraged in order to adequately monitor changes in your cat's veterinary health, detecting any concerns early, before they lead to serious medical conditions.
Dental Exam and Care
Your cat's teeth are just as important to them as yours are to you. Keep them properly cleaned and free of tartar help prevent dental disease. During your cat's wellness exam, your veterinarian will look at his or her teeth, as well as discuss with you the importance of an at-home dental routine. Our staff is happy to assist you in developing such a routine, discuss healthy dental treats, and provide demonstrations on how to properly care for your cat's teeth.
Vaccinations
Up-to-date vaccinations are a simple and easy way to increase your pet's immune system against illness and disease. Kittens will receive their initial set of vaccinations, followed by a series of boosters over the following four months. Throughout your cat's life, boosters will be administered during annual veterinary visits.
Parasite Control
Parasite control is an easy and cost-effective way to keep your family cat, and the humans they love, free from pesky pests such as fleas, ticks, heartworms, and cytauxzoonosis. During the annual exam, our staff will ensure your cat has not contracted any of these visitors, and will assist you in creating an at-home parasite control regime that is easy to administer and fits your kitty's lifestyle.
